Weekend Workshop 7th, 8th & 9th October 2016
Tarik van Prehn
Born in Brasil in 1975, Tarik moved to Portugal with his family in 1988. He started practicing Yoga daily when he was 19. After studying and practicing Chinese medicine for 6 years Tarik discovered Ashtanga Yoga in 1998. Tarik traveled to Mysore for the fist time in 2001 and returned 8 times more to practise with Guriju and Sharath. He was Authorized by AYRI in 2004. Tarik is the father of four and a surfer/ocean lover. He lives with his wife and 4 children in SW Portugal, where they run a summer Mysore Style Program, called Yoga, Surf & Sun, bringing together Ashtanga practitioners from all over the globe.
Native of Upstate NY, Lea began Ashtanga Yoga in 2001. She made her first trip to Mysore in 2003, and returned to Mysore 4 times more to practice under the guidance of Guruji and Sharath. She is graduate of Syracuse University, with diplomas in Biology and Women´s Studies. She is a practicing astrologer, a surfer, and believer that the closer you live to nature, the greater your well being. Lea and her husband Tarik live in SW Portugal with their 4 children, where they run Yoga, Surf & Sun together.
Tarik and Lea are focused on how to use the practice to improve life in a daily basis, how to cultivate better habits and how to use practice to coo-create reality.
They stepped away from the city living since 2008 and will try and bring that energy from the country side and the ocean to the City whenever they travel to teach. They are big advocates of living closer to Nature and the elements in order to expand awareness and intuition. They have accumulated a good collection of metaphors and direct experiences from practice, surfing, horse back-riding etc to share with the students.
